Letter to Mom

You may know a whole lot about primates but not know as much as I do about primates, so I will tell you some things about them. Did you know that we are primates? What about chimpanzees being as smart as us? Also chimpanzees being one of the most vicious primates, with gorillas being not all that far behind? How about most of the primate species are going extinct? Did you know that humans are the reason for this? Well we are. Even humans are getting killed every day. Most primates are omnivores, which means that they eat both meat and vegetation. Well I have to go!

My Camping Trip to Moxie Falls

   
    My mom had just told us to get ready for the day and get in the truck. Oh great! Where are we going. I thought mom was going to take dad along with her to go shopping and leave us here. Oh well maybe not.  I thought. We got in the truck like we were told and left. Where are we going? I thought to my self. We aren't in Newport anymore. Where are we.... We're in THE FORKS!  What are doing here?
    My parents go there every August and ride the river in ''rafts'' which are really inner tubes duct taped together. My dad said, “Do you guys want to see where we put our rafts in the water?”     Of course we all said, “YEAH!”
    When we got there we watched for about ten minutes then we went to the lower half of the river and played around in the water. It was really hard to stand in the rushing water. It was one of the most beautiful scenes that I have seen in my life.  “I'm getting hungry Mom.” my sister Cassidie exclaimed. We accepted her hunger and went down the road a ways and stopped at a restaurant at the Dead River Campground called Appleton's. My mom went into the restaurant to see if they were open to sell food. She came out and said that we were going to go around to the campground part and wait. I was getting tired of standing and asked my dad if he could take the tailgate down so we could sit. He looked at my mom as if there was some sort of secret thing under the cover in the tailgate and he pulled the lever and inside the tailgate there was a bunch of camping stuff. “We are staying here tonight!!” he said.
    I was so happy I wanted to scream. This was my first time here and it was beautiful. My parents told us that a little ways down the road there was a trail to Moxie Falls. Of course we wanted to go.  First I am half asleep waiting for something exciting to happen, then I am sweating my brains out while I am hiking down the trail to see the rushing water of  Moxie Falls. About halfway there we started to hear the sound of rushing water. Once we saw the wooden railing and steps we knew we were just around the corner from the waterfall. We watched is from three different areas that were hanging out over the river. One spot was really high and you could see everything. It was shooting out about three or four feet from the cliff. My sisters and I were so amazed at it. We got some great pictures. I was surprised that there were people swimming by the huge rocks at the bottom of the waterfall.  The sun was reflecting off the trees and making them lime green. It was definitely  very cool. I love the fresh smell of the huge pone and spruce trees and the fresh water.
  We stayed watching the waterfall for about twenty minutes then we hiked back to the truck so we could go eat something.
   
    We had the basic camp lunch. Hotdogs, chips, water, and watermelon. After letting our stomachs settle we got in our bathing suits and took a swim in the Dead River. It was hard to swim in the rushing river. When I went under I was pushed downriver a few feet and thats when we  decided to get dry. After that we went to a store called Berry's. We bought three vitamin waters, two klondike bars, one frozen peanut butter bar, and two jugs of water. When we got back to camp we took a walk up to the top of the road. We saw a guy who was carving animals and trees and plants out of wood with a chain saw. After we left we ate some dinner. We had BBQ Chicken, Pasta Salad, Chips, Vitamin Water, and Cucumbers. For dessert we ate BBQ Ribs and Smores. Cass went to bed then Cait, Mom, and I took a walk down to the bridge and watched four people jump off the bridge. They swam as hard as they could and went over to the shore. “Mom? I definitely want to do that when I get older!” Cait and I both exclaimed. When we got back to camp I sat by the fire for a couple more hours. At about ten o'clock I went to bed even though I couldn't sleep. I couldn't sleep because the neighbors had returned from their rafting trip down the Penobscot River and blasted their radio until one in the morning. Finally one of the fellow campers came over and told them to turn the music off.
    When I woke up in the morning I ate some BBQ Ribs for a pre-breakfast snack. For real breakfast I had a bacon, egg, and sausage breakfast sandwich with some hot chocolate.  When we were done breakfast we packed up and left.
    I was upset that we had to leave but at least I got to spend the whole weekend with my family which we don't get to do every weekend. I mean we usually spend the weekends at home. Thats what counts. Thats what made this trip PRICELESS.

My name is Stephenie Baker, and I live in Italy. I am 12 years old and I am an apprentice to Josephina Baker, my grandmother. I am an only child and my parents died in a wagon crash, so I was left with my grandmother. I live in the same house because the house was given to my grandmother because it was in my parents will. I have many friends and we like to ride my horses all day long. My job is to make sure that all of the extra dough is put away and the fire is blazing all the time.

Welcome to the Green Apple Ice Cream Store. All of our ice cream is made of natural resources. We have many alternatives so everyone gets what flavor they want. Green Apple Ice Cream Store is the only ice cream store in this area so we have a monopoly and no competition. We provide a good and a service.
All of our resources are renewable so we have a high supply and our ice cream will never be scarce. Our demand is high and our cost of production is low so we have a high profit. While marking the prices I thought of law of supply and law of demand. Once a month we have incentives such as buy one get one half off. Many people consume our products daily. We also produce all of our ice cream. We hope you enjoy our ice cream!
